Maintenance Technician V Controller

Intro: The responsibility of the Controls Technician is to provide technical support, troubleshoot and create new programs.

Decription of Position: The responsibility of the Controls Technician is to provide technical support, troubleshoot and create new programs. They will research new technology solutions to improve productivity and process quality for all automated systems. They will perform the assigned tasks according to the direction of the Maintenance Manager or Team Lead. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager. Sole Responsibility / Assignments to be completed by the position: · Programming automation and controls systems involving Mitsubishi and Siemens HMI’s and PLC’s · Provide day to day support for the shop floor PLC’s and related hardware, software, and applications · Perform troubleshooting of internal network issues and work with IT support. · Electro-hydraulic system integration · Coordinate with Engineers to design, document, and upgrade new processes. · Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of project materials and software. · Troubleshooting and repair of communications bus and components. · Camera and vision systems installation, troubleshooting, upgrading, and programming · HMI and VFD programming, troubleshooting and installation · Perform troubleshooting and repairs using PC’s, hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, test devices and precision measuring tools · Advanced troubleshooting of electronic components, servo pumps, servo hydraulic, proportional hydraulic and hydraulic-electric integrated systems · Upgrade drawings for any new processes or changes · Support the implementation of the defined 5s standard · Adhere to all safety guidelines outlined by OSHA and Nifco KTW · Assist in the training of new employees · Accurately complete appropriate paperwork and/or enter into computer · Continuous participation in improvement of processes and procedures · Forwards suggestions for improvement to the department manager of team lead · Conscientious handling of the provided tools like welding and clip tooling · Comply with all regulations regarding workplace safety and accident prevention in everyday operations as well as informing the supervisor if deviations are detected during the shift. Other Main Duties: · Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area · Assist maintenance personnel when needed · Supports the shift supervisor to ensure all regulations regarding order and cleanliness are complied with throughout the company. · Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of the company · Contributes continuously to improve processes, procedures, operational figures, and informs the supervisor about suggestions for improvements. · Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor Requirements HS diploma/GED or equivalent 2-5 years of related experience Proven experience in PLC logic and programming (preferably Siemens and Mitsubishi) Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, and testing, and start up. Experience in automotive injection molding preferred Excellent attention to detail Self-motivated Excellent verbal skills Must have good vision and eyesight Must be productive in a team environment Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Required to work overtime as schedule

Qualifications: Requirements HS diploma/GED or equivalent 2-5 years of related experience Proven experience in PLC logic and programming (preferably Siemens and Mitsubishi) Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, and testing, and start up. Experience in automotive injection molding preferred Excellent attention to detail Self-motivated Excellent verbal skills Must have good vision and eyesight Must be productive in a team environment Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Required to work overtime as scheduled
